Wales saw the largest increase in joblessness in the UK, between August and October, with unemployment jumping to 4.6%*.Reducing unemployment across Wales is a priority. Supporting marginalised groups into employment and tackling the root causes of worklessness are key to the economic recovery during and post COVID-19.

With the introduction of the Kickstart and the Job Retention Scheme coming to an end in the spring, ensuring meaningful work opportunities are available is vital to reducing worklessness. Join Senedd Insight’s Reducing Worklessness and Economic Inactivity Digital Conference to explore how a public health approach, job creation and additional funding could help tackle unemployment.

Reviewing how to reduce intergenerational worklessness, you will hear from successful pilots and interventions implemented across Wales including the Rhyl City Strategy. You will hear how local communities are supporting the economic recovery, in response to COVID-19 and Brexit, through the development of sustainable job, skills and training opportunities.
